Beautiful

I hate winter. I hate the cold, the snow, the ice, and the wind. Everything that was once green is either dead or lying dormant just waiting for the warmth of Spring. But every once in a while, I look outside and am amazed by the beauty of winter. Today was one of those days. At least the view from my house was beautiful. Or maybe its just because I am leaving the day after tomorrow, I am suddenly not minding the bitterness of the season.

Now. Onto a totally different topic...My wedding band fits again! I havent tried it since I started excercising. So about a month ago I tried. And it definitely did not fit. But tonite it definitely does! I havent been able to wear it since I first became pregnant with Jonah. About a year and a half ago. I really wanted to have it for this trip though. It may just save me a few hassling comments while out and about. Hooray! OK so thats my good news for the day. Now I am in need of a looooong sleep that Im sure Jonah will not let me have. So goodnite.

Daipers!

My daipers are here! All of them now. I am finished buying cloth daipers now and shouldnt have to purchase anymore. Ever! As mentioned in a previous post they are one size fits all ( unless I have a 40 pound boy who still isnt potty trained) Which is just not acceptable. So here they are.

I am really enjoying cloth daipers so far. I wash them every night and throw them in the dryer before bed. They are ready in the morning. Its just that simple.

Shorts for Dylan

I took my kids to the fabric store a couple weeks ago and they each got to pick a fabric they liked for shorts for Belize. Now I am a little late starting these darn shorts 2 nights before we leave. But, better late than never. Emily, as seen in a previous posts, has hers made already. Dylan however has been very patiently waiting for mommy to figure out an easier way to make shorts. The pattern I used for Emilys is definitely not a great one. So I searched and searched and searched the net until EUREKA! http://www.rookiemoms.com/make-some-easy-kids-pants/

Anyone can make these. Its so easy and they turn out perfect everytime! It is very late and Dylan was in bed long before I finished his shorts so he will be so suprised that I finally made them. Now I am not a big fan of the material he picked...but if he likes them thats all that really matters right? Right! So here they are...turtles!

Hehehe...

OK this has no relevance to anything going on in my life. I am , however, always thinking about the "good ol days" and this definitely brings me WAY back! This is probably THE worst picture of Sirena and I but its awesome all the same. We look like a couple of tomboys. Its those dumb red bowties. Darn it Mr. Wen I told you they looked ridiculous!

Anyways I think we were in grade 9 or 10 and at the Vancouver Band Competition. There will be more flashbacks to come in the near future. Hehehe. I love it!

I can sew!

Well that may be a strong statement... lets say I can thread the sewing machine and make material stick together for a while:) I cant read patterns hardly at all, unless it only involves one simple stich, no bias tape, buttons, zippers, pockets, pleats etc.None the less, I have made a few things in the last week that I am excited about and have pictures of. So here they are...

I made Emily a cute little pair of shorts for Belize. Now I used a pattern for size 6 months to 3 years so unfortunately the bum in meant to fit a daipered toddler. Its a little puffy but who cares! I made it!

Much to Jons disapproval, I made Jonah a pair of leg warmers. I realize that these are used primarily for girls but...get over it! He is adorable with his chubby thighs showing up top and his chubby toes out the bottom. I just want to pinch him!

My little poser. Im pretty sure hes figured out I think he is the cutest baby in the world. Hes got me where he wants me thats for sure.

He's here!

Today at 9:57am I had the honor of witnessing the most amazing birth of Joseph Wiebe. What an adorable little bundle of joy! He was 7lbs 12oz (I think) and almost 21 inches long. He was 11 days overdue but I wonder how tiny he would have been if hed come out 11 days ago? He may not have been much over 6lbs. He is perfect. I am so happy that Sirena allowed me to be there. Its an amazing experience to be in a room and witness the birth of this tiny little person. It is a pretty special experience. Though not for everyone I am sure. But I love it!

I wanted very badly for Sirena to be with me for Jonahs birth but man, it just wasnt in the cards for us I tell ya. She was with me in the morning for the first gel, we walked, then second gel. Nothing. So I went home. Labored for the next 24 hours. Hurt bad but still no progress. So I went in and had my water broke. Unfortunately Sirena had come down with the Norwalk virus of all things!!! So she was very sick and couldnt be there.

I am so thankful for Jon. I couldnt imagine having to go through that without him, but to have your best friend, another woman who has gone through the same experience, at your side is uncomparible. On that note. If and when I do have another baby I am still counting on YOU Sirena! You and Jon are my team. And I think I will definitley have a photographer as well. Perhaps Starla if she is game??? Anyways I'll cut that daydream short and move on...bye for now.
OK Im really sorry if I should have waited to post Josephs pic Sirena...there is probably only like 1 other person who reads this blog anyways. Hahaha!

Hmmmmm...

So where is baby Buster?
I thought he would be here today for sure. Still waiting. I have been fidgeting and playing on this darn computer all day hoping for a call or an email or an instant message. But nothing. Nadda. Well. That just wont do. Come out come out little man. Preferably tomorrow now. It is getting kind of late!
On a more productive note, Jon took me for dinner at Boston Pizza and it was awesome! Yummy. Pizza, pasta and a big chocolate brownie with extra whipping cream. No I do not fit in that bikini yet, and I probably wont if I keep that up! No time left to lose the weight before our trip anyways. Not enough time to gain too much either:) Anyways Im off to bed. Hopefully I will be posting about a beautiful brand new baby boy tomorrow night!

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day to everyone!

Its also my anniversary today. Jon and I have been married for 4 wonderful years already. Although it does seem much longer than that because we lived together for 8 years now. Funny thing is...I dont actually remember the first 4 years very well. I cant seem to recall a time where we had no children. It may seem very strange to people without kids, but I just cant recall memories easily without my kids in them. Thats ok though. The memories I have a great none the less. I wonder if anyone else has that problem.

I realize this is a very old picture (thats Dylan by the way) so 4 years ago. Unfortunately that is pretty well the ONLY pic of Jon and I together. Except for my last maternity pics...but I was fat and laboring. Enough said. Its either me taking the pic of him or him of me. I think it may be time for some family photos!

OK so my new thing is...cloth daipers! Some may think I am completely nuts and must have alot of free time. I would like to say that it is fun (I love the color choices), healthy (dont get me started on what disposables do to our enviroment - and health), and its not like I dont already have umpteen loads of laundry to do anyways. Whats another 1 a day?
So. Shown above is my beautiful ( and shy) little darling Emily sporting a periwinkle blue, All in One pocket daiper made by Baby Kanga's. Now she is already long out of daipers, but I wanted to see if they really did fit a toddler as stated in their ad. They do!
And here we have my adorable little boy, Jonah, in his bright new buttercup yellow Bum Genius 2.0 All in Ones. He might not look very amused, but he was:) I much prefer these daipers to the Baby Kangas. First off, the velcro is much easier to fasten with a squirmy little guy, and secondly, they come with there own absorbent liners. The Kanga's I had to make my own. And amazingly enough...I did make my own!

Wow. Where did I go?

OK so this is going to sound ridiculously stupid! I couldnt find my blog...for a year!
I realize now that all I had to do is click on my name if I posted on someone elses blog. Actually I wouldnt have even noticed that except that a friend told me she seen my blog. Well. Not much of one anyways. One whole post. Lets see if I can manage to get another post in before the year is up:)
What I really would like to know is how to put pictures up. I will play around a bit until I figure it out. When O do I will post something a little more intellectual and interesting...rather that a comic post about my less than intellectual self! Here goes...
